The North Dakota Long Term Care Association recognized 10 nurses and 1 CNA who work at Garrison Memorial Hospital with "Caregiver Awards". The award, which is considered prestigious by the association, is only available to caregivers who have been nominated by a resident or his/her family member. Those who were recognized are: Kathy Crawford, RN; Missy Iglehart, RN; Carol Halvorson, RN; Karla Scheresky, RN; Barb Stokke, RN; Patty Johnson, RN; Paulette Hushka, LPN; Jan Merry, LPN; Corliss Berg, LPN; Betty Mahoney, LPN; and Jackie Uhlich, CNA.
The nurses were nominated by the son of a family member who nominated "all nurses" who provide care at the hospital's third floor, a long-term care facility. He wrote that his mother "has been cared for in superb fashion by all these employees in the third floor Prime Car Unit for the past four years. They all deserve special recognition; I simply cannot single out any individual. Someone is always there to take care of every need.".
Jackie was nominated by a resident who wrote, "Her attitude is significantly above the performance requirements and performance of others in a similar position. She always comes into my room with a smile on her face and a cheerful comment."
